STUDENT ACTIVITIES AT THE 2008 CAG-ACG ASEM

Students and recent graduates, get connected and involved in your network!  Several special activities throughout the conference are planned specifically for student delegates as opportunities to connect with fellow students as well as prominent professionals and researchers in the field of gerontology.  We hope that you will join us for the following events:

Meet and Greet the SC-CÉ Student Representatives

Thursday, October 23, 18:00-19:00

Attention all students!  Are you keen to meet other students before the conference officially begins?  All existing and aspiring SC-CÉ Student Representatives are encouraged to attend this informal gathering over light refreshments.  Meet the SC-CÉ Student Representatives, swap your experiences with aging-related activities on your campus, and learn more about promoting the CAG-ACG and SC-CÉ and becoming a representative at your local university or college.  This is an event worth attending!

SC-CÉ Student Social Night Out

Saturday, October 25, beginning at 18:00

All students and recent graduates are invited to attend an enjoyable evening out on the town.  Meet at the SC-CÉ Book Display booth at 18:00 and we will walk over for dinner as a group to Fellini Koolini’s in downtown London (155 Albert St.).  Both meat and vegetarian options are available.  Dinner will be followed by social time at The Martini Bar, located close by.  Don’t miss this opportunity to relax after a busy conference, play some pool, catch up with old friends, and make new friends from across the country.  All attendees are responsible for their own costs.  This social event is brought to you by the local ASEM Student Organizing Committee and the CAG-ACG SC-CÉ.

Spot the Dot Program

Look for the coloured dots on nametags identifying all student delegates attending the conference.  These dots serve to facilitate student networking with faculty and other researchers and professionals.  Non-student conference attendees are encouraged to approach and engage “dotted” individuals.  Student attendees can also use the Spot the Dot Program to identify and network with fellow students.  This initiative is brought to you by the local ASEM Student Organizing Committee and the CAG-ACG SC-CÉ.
