Programs and Courses in Gerontology and Geriatrics

This listing of universities and colleges providing programs and courses in gerontology and geriatrics reflects the importance accorded by the Canadian Association on Gerontology to the role of education in improving the quality of life of elderly people in Canada. Graduates of our universities and community college programs in gerontology will be the future policy makers, educators, researchers, administrators and care deliverers to Canada's growing elderly population. Knowledge can dispel harmful myths and prejudices, encourage positive attitudes and improve understanding about the effects of aging on individuals and society.

This listing is intended to facilitate enrolment in aging-related programs by persons interested in increasing their knowledge and skills with respect to the elderly population by making information on such programs and courses more easily available. The CAG's special recognition and encouragement of students is also reflected through its administration of two bursaries, reduced student membership, reduced student conference rates, special student conference activities, and the Student Connection.

This listing was as accurate as possible at the time of posting. If you wish to inform us of any corrections or additional programs and courses that should be listed, please contact the CAG National Office.
