Spotlight on integration of knowledge and practice

Greetings from the Conference Chairs - Pierrette Gaudreau, PhD and François Béland, PhD

On behalf of the Canadian Association on Gerontology Local Organizing Committee and the Quebec Network for Research on Aging (RQRV), we are very proud to welcome you to Montreal for the 2010 Annual Scientific and Educational Meeting of the Canadian Association on Gerontology.

The proposed theme reflects the challenges faced in research on aging by both researchers and professionals working with older persons.
Substantial efforts must be made to ensure that our research and practice work in synergy with the common goal of helping Canadian older persons remain active and in good health to continue enriching our society.

This idea is illustrated in the photograph of Montreal, which integrates different styles of architecture: on the left, the Queen Mary of the World Cathedral consecrated in 1894, and on the right, the IBM Marathon building erected in 1992.
